Condition: The dust jacket has been clipped & therefore does not show the original $2.50 price on the inside flap. The dust jacket shows wear especially around the edges & shows a bit or discoloration (aging) to the creases of the inside flaps. It has done well in protecting the cover & spine of the book over the years. They show minimal wear. The inside is clean - no writing, torn or missing pages noted. This edition is tightly bound. There are creases in the first few pages of the book including the half title page & title pages. This crease can be seen in the photos below. There are a few age spots (foxing) noted on the foredges. The title page has a small mark near the bottom against the spine. This is a stated first edition with I-B printed under the words First Edition on the copyright page. This was a code used by Harpers & Brothers to signify when the book was published. In this case it refers to the date: I = September and B = 1952.
