FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
HOW SOON WILL MY ORDER SHIP?
Your order will ship within 1-3 business days. Orders ship on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (unless they fall on a holiday). Media mail takes approximately 3-9 days to arrive once shipped. If you need your order faster, please be sure to choose Priority Mail during checkout. Also, check Ground Advantage as an option as well as it is often faster than Media Mail - sometimes just as fast as Priority depending on your location.
If you have ordered from Log Cabin Vintage in the past, you will notice your order probably arrived in a used Amazon padded mailer or box. Recycled materials are used as much as possible for two reasons. First Log Cabin Vintage is committed to reducing our carbon footprint on this earth. Selling vintage books keeps many of these books from ending up in a landfill. By using recycled mailers, we are extending the life of something that is usually a once and done envelope or box. And while many people do recycle these items, far too many still end up in landfills. By reusing them, we extend that use just a little & let's face it, everything helps these days in our growing world. The following items are either recycled materials or better for the environment:
- The books sold here at Log Cabin Vintage - these are all books that someone no longer wanted. Instead of heading to a landfill, Log Cabin Vintage helps to pass them along to people who still appreciate & read these oldies. So many people purchase books from Log Cabin Vintage who want to reread books from their childhood they no longer own. Whether their copy was lost in a move, too well-loved to keep, or went to a relative instead of them after a loved one has passed, they are looking to replace these childhood favorites.
- Packaging - Amazon padded mailers & boxes are saved by friends, family & a few people in our local community.
- Packing Peanuts - these are made from 100% biodegradable materials - also sourced from friends and family whenever possible.
- Tissue Paper - the tissue paper we source is made from 100% recycled materials.
- The little extras tucked into your orders - these materials are items rescued from flea markets & thrift stores over the years. The book pages are from books too shabby to sell - I rescue & reuse as many of the pages as possible. I have even turned the covers into blank notebooks from time to time.
Using recycled materials helps to keep the costs down for you. The expense of shipping materials can add up quickly, forcing us to raise our prices to help offset these expenses. We are able to keep our prices a bit lower by using as much recycled materials as possible.
DO YOU ACCEPT RETURNS?
At this time, returns are not accepted at Log Cabin Vintage. All books (unless otherwise noted) are vintage/antique and therefore, sold as is. This means these books have been read, sat on a shelf for years, been well-loved and show signs of previous ownership. It is important to read the complete description on each listing as well as view all photos. I do my best to accurately describe the condition of the book both through the written and visual descriptions in each listing.
WHAT IF MY ORDER IS RECEIVED DAMAGED?
If your order is damaged through the shipping process AND you purchased the books using Ground Advantage or Priority Shipping, a claim can be filed with the post office. I am happy to help you do so, please email me at info@logcabinvintage.com to get the process started. You will need pictures of the box/packaging as well as the damage to the book or product.
Unfortunately, if you ordered using Media Shipping, there is no insurance included and there is nothing that can be done. Log Cabin Vintage cannot be held responsible for any packages once they leave our hands. We take each order to the post office personally and receive a printed receipt upon handing your order over the post office.
DO YOU BUY BOOKS?
I receive this question a lot and while I would love to say YES, I want to buy all the books, it is just not realistic. Therefore, I have to limit myself to buying books locally in the Bucks County, PA area. The biggest reason for this decision is that it is just not cost effective to pay for shipping when reselling. If you are in this area or within an hour or two, please reach out to me at info@logcabinvintage.com with what books you are looking to sell, the price you are looking to receive & the condition of the books.
DO YOU OFFER INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING?
At this time, Log Cabin Vintage does not offer international shipping as books are heavy, making the cost of International Shipping extremely high.
If you have any further questions or need more details about a product listed, please reach out to me at info@logcabinvintage.com and I am happy to try to answer any questions you may have.
