$75.00
Title: My Bookhouse Complete Book Set: Volumes 1 - 6
Format: Clothbound Hardcovers
Edited By: Olive Beaupre Miller
Illustrator: Various
Copyright Year: Originally Published in 1937, these are 1925 Editions
Publisher: The Book House For Children Publishers - Chicago
Condition: Cover and spine wear noted especially around the edges - the spines & cover corners show the most wear. No missing pages noted. Each volume is tightly bound. These are ex-library books & therefore have library stamps & numbers written in them as shown in the photos. The inside cover of The Latch Key has the remnants of a bookplate on the inside cover. The back covers look like they are discolored in the photos - it is how they were made with a whitish/green design. Page tears are noted in one or two editions & have been repaired with tape - not surprising considering all the little hands that have handled them through the years. Be sure to view all photos as they are part of the visual description of these books.
This set is filled with art deco illustrations which are gorgeous. The books progress as children age, starting with nursery rhymes in Volume 1. A wonderful set to have on the bookshelf for hours upon hours of reading & rereading.
What makes this set different from other My Book House book sets that have been published over the years? First of all, these editions are from the first publications of this set from 1920-1928 when the set was only a six-volume set. The title of the set is My Bookhouse instead of My Book House as the later editions are called. The order of the books in this set differs from the later, 12 volume set - only In the Nursery remained as book number 1 in the set.
This Set Includes:
Volume 1: In the Nursery
Volume 2: Up One Pair of Stairs
Volume 3: Through Fairy Halls
Volume 4: The Treasure Chest
Volume 5: From the Tower Window
Volume 6: The Latch Key
