Condition:  Cover and spine minor wear noted around the edges. No missing pages noted.  Each volume is tightly bound. Volume One (In the Nursery) shows the most wear, as is usually the case with this set.  There is an inscription written in pencil on the inside covers of Volumes 1 & 2. No other writing noted.  There is a bit of crayon on a blank page after the list of stories & poems in volume 1. There is also minor page tears noted in this volume as well as tiny holes on two pages at the beginning of the book.  Again, this one is the most loved book in this set & it shows.  These volumes appear to have a whitish finish to the covers & spines than some of the later editions. This was how they were produced & not a defect in these volumes.

This set is filled with art deco illustrations which are gorgeous.  The books progress as children age, starting with nursery rhymes in Volume 1.  A wonderful set to have on the bookshelf for hours upon hours of reading & rereading.

What makes this set different from other My Book House book sets that have been published over the years?  First of all, these editions are from the first publications of this set from 1920-1928 when the set was only a six-volume set.  The title of the set is My Bookhouse instead of My Book House as the later editions are called.  The order of the books in this set differs from the later, 12 volume set - only In the Nursery remained as book number 1 in the set.

This Set Includes:
Volume 1:  In the Nursery
Volume 2:  Up One Pair of Stairs
Volume 3:  Through Fairy Halls
Volume 4:  The Treasure Chest
Volume 5:   From the Tower Window
Volume 6:  The Latch Key
