New Friends is worn from being read over and over through the years.  There are a few minor page tears at the bottom of the pages from being turned.  Page smudges & a few wrinkles noted as well - all consistent with being a well-read book.

Facts and Fancies is an ex-schoolbook & has stamps & markings associated with being a schoolbook.  No writing noted on any of the pages of the text itself.

The illustrations in these books are everything you would expect from a book published in the early 1930's.  They definitely have an art deco style/vibe to them.  The covers make these great books to add to any patriotic displays in your home as well.
