This collection is all about the Best in Children's Books Series published by Nelson Doubleday, Inc. They are filled with abridged versions of classic tales & stories. A wide range of artists illustrated this series including Andy Warhol, Richard Scarry, Maurice Sendak & more. They were published from the late 1950's until the late 1960's. They were part of the Doubleday Book Club. They originally came with dust jackets, however the books themselves are just as beautiful as the dust jackets.
